Wedding Tip Of The Day.....

Tip of the Day..... Receiving Line... With a large number of guests this can be a time consuming segment in your wedding. Serve them some champagne and had pass some appetizers while they wait to meet and congratulate the Bride and Groom. Pop the bottles and free pour a small amount into small plastic glasses and have some cheese to follow. A nice gesture and very classy! Use champagne glasses if you want to step it up a notch...

Bills, Bills, Bills.....Who Pays For What?

Working out a budget for your wedding is one of the first things that should be done.

The proper and correct guideline for who pays for what can be found in your "Bride’s Guide" download on the Wausau Wedding Powerhouse website on pages 10 and 11.  Just register your name and email and we will send you a copy!
As the age of marriage for both the bride and groom increase, it is much more common for the bridal party to pay a larger share of the wedding costs.  In many cases, they pay the entire cost.  Couples planning to marry today more often are firmly established in their own careers, with their own incomes, and at least can supplement what their parents pay for the wedding.

One tip if and when the bride’s family is assuming responsibility for the wedding and reception. It is much easier to plan a social event if one family does it.  The groom’s family should be a part of the planning, but…if the bride’s family will be the “hosts” (Bill payers), then the decision making rests in one place, with the groom's family advising and support.

What have you done to establish a budget and figure out who pays for what?  Share your thoughts.

Do Yourself a Favor Tip....

Do Yourself a Favor:
According to Market, the average number of wedding guests is 157, which means that overspending on seemingly inexpensive items such as invites and party favors can add up to a big hit on your checkbook. "If you use candy kisses in the favor instead of truffles, you'll save about $3 per bag. Other experts recommend letting place cards double as favors, or incorporating the favors into a creative table centerpiece of chocolates or candles. One bride  used assortments of giant, colorful seashells for her centerpieces; guests loved it. One bride put a small bowl filled with smooth rocks and a live goldfish on each table when she got married last November. The guests were given plastic bags to take the fish home.
